🚀 Get Started with Your Coinbase Extension

Securely manage your crypto assets directly in your browser. Follow these three simple steps to unlock a new level of decentralized finance.

1. Install & Pin the Extension

First, ensure the Coinbase Wallet Extension is successfully installed from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons. Once installed, look for the puzzle piece icon in your browser toolbar, find the **Coinbase Wallet** icon, and click the **pin** icon next to it. This keeps it visible and easily accessible for quick transactions and viewing your balance. **Accessibility is key.**

Tip: Always verify you are downloading the official extension to avoid phishing scams. Check the developer name and the number of users.

2. Create or Import a Wallet

Upon opening the extension for the first time, you will have two choices: **Create a New Wallet** or **Import an Existing Wallet**.

  • **New User:** Choose "Create a New Wallet" and follow the prompts to generate your unique 12-word recovery phrase. Write this down and store it securely (offline!).
  • **Existing User:** Choose "Import Wallet" and enter your existing seed phrase or private key. Never share this phrase with anyone!

**Security Alert:** Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your funds. Losing it means losing access forever.

3. Connect & Explore DApps

With your wallet set up, you're ready to explore the decentralized web (Web3). Navigate to any Decentralized Application (DApp) like Uniswap, OpenSea, or a DeFi platform.

When prompted to connect, select **Coinbase Wallet**. The extension will ask you to confirm the connection. Review the permissions carefully. Once connected, you can **sign transactions**, **swap tokens**, **manage NFTs**, and **interact with smart contracts** securely from your browser.

**Start interacting with Web3 safely and quickly!**
